The Chinese: Will They or Will They Not?

The Chinese are coming (and I'm not talking of mall builders)
Just very recently, there were reports that three Chinese vessels have been spotted, again, inside the Philippines maritime territory, in the Spratly's, just 126 kilometers away from Palawan. They are that creepingly close to our throats. They know we are the weakest, militarywise; just a mouse to be stalked and played upon. In terms of military hardware, they are slowly inching towards the technological level of the United States and Europe. They are developing 6th-generation fighter planes to match up with the F-22, F-35 and Eurofighter as well as aircraft carriers and stealth submarines. In terms of military manpower, they have the largest standing army in the world. In short, we are dead meat.
I just hope that before we become dead meat, we at least can die fighting. I hope we can get at least F-16's as fighter planes, more navy ships with surface-to-air missiles and miniguns, MANPAD's, Tavor assault rifles, modern body armors and Javelin anti-tank rockets. Budget na lang ang problema.
Kapag talagang walang-wala na, Itak na lang!
